Walks and Attractions in Inverness

From the Cottage at Sunnyholm, you are only minutes away from a number of beautiful walks through Bellfield Park. Alternatively, stroll to the Ness Islands and up to the path along the scenic Caledonian Canal. For guests looking to take a longer walk the tow-path will take you as far as the marina at Dochfour.

The River Ness is famous for its beauty and the fact that it is the shortest river in the UK flowing from the spectacular Loch Ness to the Moray Firth - a distance of approximately 7 miles in total.

Inverness Cottage Driveway

We are very fortunate to have dolphins breeding in the wild in the Moray Firth where they can be sighted daily at specific places - a great idea for an easy day trip is a drive along the coast.

Alternatively, leave the car at the cottage (off street parking provided) and wander along the banks of the River Ness - the many 'must see' features on the route include St Andrews Cathedral, the Eden Court Theatre, the Floral Hall, the new Highland Archives Building.

The Sports area of Inverness is within walking distance, with an Ice Centre, Aquadome, Queens Park Athletics Stadium and the Bught Park Rugby, Football and Shinty sports fields.
